Viking Feast Platter

1. Begin by roasting a large leg of lamb. Rub it with a mixture of olive oil, garlic, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Roast in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 2 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
2. While the lamb is roasting, prepare the honey-glazed root vegetables. Peel and chop parsnips, carrots, and turnips into large chunks. Toss them in olive oil, honey, salt, and pepper, then roast in the same oven for 45 minutes to an hour until they are tender and caramelized.
3. Make a batch of Viking flatbread. Combine whole wheat flour, water, salt, and a touch of honey. Knead the dough until it's smooth, then roll out into flat rounds and cook on a hot griddle until browned on both sides.
4. Prepare a selection of cheeses and fresh fruits like apples, pears, and grapes to serve on the side.
5. For an authentic touch, brew some mead or Viking ale to accompany the feast.
6. Arrange the leg of lamb, honey-glazed root vegetables, flatbread, cheeses, and fruits on a large wooden platter to serve.
7. Garnish with fresh herbs and enjoy your Viking Feast Platter with friends and family!
