Classic Italian Spaghetti Dinner


Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 400g canned tomatoes, crushed
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 100g grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
3. Stir in the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, and sugar. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Combine the cooked spaghetti with the sauce, tossing to coat the noodles evenly.
5. Serve the spaghetti in bowls, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
6. Optionally, serve with a side of garlic bread and a simple green salad for a complete Italian dining experience.
