Choco Chunk Cookies
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a bowl, whisk together 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
3. In another bowl, beat 3/4 cup melted butter with 1 cup packed brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar until smooth.
4. Beat in 1 tablespoon vanilla extract and 1 large egg, and then 1 egg yolk, until light and creamy.
5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just blended.
6. Stir in 2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks by hand using a wooden spoon.
7. Drop cookie dough 1/4 cup at a time onto lined baking sheets. Cookies should be about 3 inches apart.
8. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes or until the edges are lightly toasted.
9. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
