Classic Chocolate Cake
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
2. In a large bowl, sift together 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, and 2 cups sugar.
3. Add 2 large eggs, 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract to the flour mixture.
4. Beat the mixture on a medium speed for 2 minutes until smooth.
5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
7. Cool the cakes in the pans for about 10 minutes, then remove from pans to wire racks to cool completely.
8. Frost with your favorite icing.
