Decadent Brownies with Whipped Cream
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for whipped cream)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
3. Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, then mix until the batter is completely mixed and no lumps remain.
4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
6. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack.
7. Meanwhile, prepare the whipped cream by beating the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until stiff peaks form.
8. Once the brownies are cooled, cut them into squares and serve with a generous dollop of whipped cream on top.
